About Strategic Messaging
Strategic Messaging is one of the Monash Research family of blogs, which also includes DBMS 2, Text Technologies, and the Monash Report. Unlike our other blogs, which focus on technical subjects, Strategic Messaging discusses the theory and practice of marketing. Specifically, it covers strategic marketing and positioning, and the messaging that supports and creates them.
Examples are drawn primarily from two domains in which marketing is not just a conversation, but actually a debate — enterprise software and politics. The most central posts are probably:
- A series discussing our layered messaging model.
- Our strategy worksheet for IT vendors.
Strategic Messaging’s author is Curt Monash, who in connection with his analytical work has long been a high-level marketing consultant to the software and online services industries.
